Bulky item pick-up
Since 2006, CRCD Enterprises has been the City of Los Angeles’ lead provider of neighborhood & community beautification services for the 15 square-mile area representing South Central LA, City Council District 9. It all began with a City contract—to provide corridor maintenance and bulky item pick-up in our primary service area—funding a “Neighborhood & Community Beautification” division. In 2012, CRCD enterprise was established with funding from Citi Foundation, Federal Home Loan Bank AHEAD, and REDF Social Innovation Fund. CRCD Enterprises became the street cleaning and exterior maintenance provider for the Central Avenue Historic Business Improvement District in 2016, specializing in high-tech sweeping, scrubbing, steam-cleaning, and pressure-washing along the 1.5-mile commercial corridor.
CRCD Enterprises removes more than 4 million square feet of graffiti every year, reducing tension and violence between the 55 gangs estimated to be active in South LA; removing at least 8,258 bags totaling 498.74 tons of trash annually and repairing sidewalks at more than 21 sites throughout South LA, improving community health and well-being. The “crew” follows a 30-50-mile daily route and receives more than 4,500 graffiti removal requests per year from residents, businesses, police, the City Council Office, and the City of Los Angeles’ Clean Streets program.
