CRCD and Council District 9 Recovery Efforts Following Fireworks Blast in South LA
Our Projects Make a Difference
Ruth Teague Homes
Ruth Teague Homes, a sister development of Marcella Gardens, is a joint development with New Economics for Women and the Amity Foundation. This is a 5-story, 52-unit multi-family development in South LA where 100% of the units are set-aside for providing new homes for homeless youth and unhoused families.
CRCD will provide comprehensive mental health treatment for both Ruth Teague and Marcella Gardens. The amenities include a large recreational pool, community room, and exercise room that will be shared with Marcella Gardens as one total development. All units come with basic furnishing and housewares to support our newly housed neighbors.

Marcella Gardens
Marcella Gardens - a joint venture between the Coalition for Responsible Community Development, New Economics for Women, and the Amity Foundation - will rise at the southeast corner of 67th and Main Streets. Plans approved earlier this year by the City of Los Angeles call for the construction of a four-story building featuring 60 apartments - including 59 affordable units and one manager's unit.
The project, according to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, will include a mix of studio and one-bedroom dwellings priced for households earning at or below 30 and 50 percent of the area median income. Monthly rents are expected to range from $548 to $587 per month. 50% of the units area set aside for homeless transition-age youth (ages 18-24). All units come with basic furnishing and housewares to support our newly housed neighbors.
